English Programs at American English College
Everything that we do – from the design of our program, to
the books we use and in-class activities, is all about finding ways to improve
our students’ learning experience and help them reach their goal.
Learning a language may seem like an overwhelming challenge, so
what we do is break it down by your level, and goals. Each day, you will tackle
a new learning objective together with your teacher, and build upon your
fluency and accuracy. Each of our programs cover language skills, including
listening, speaking, reading, writing, grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation.
English Classes
For in-person sessions, students are able to join our Semi-Intensive
English Program (18 hours per week), Intensive English Program (28
hours per week) or TOEFL iBT Test Preparation (20 hours per
week).
Students can choose to focus on life skills or academic skills in
each program. Each of these programs are offered on an open enrollment, year
around basis. So if you are a longer term student interested in 1-2 years of
study or short term student looking for a fun summer or winter program, we have
the perfect program for you.
Accelerate your English language proficiency to prepare for a
college, university, or professional environment. This all-day course is
designed for students who have the desire to gain entry into a U.S college or
university. The course is also suitable for students or professionals who want
to use English in a more professional setting.
While completing every level, you will progress
sequentially throughout the whole program.

SEMI-INTENSIVE
ENGLISH PROGRAM
Designed to improve your English communication skills for
personal, everyday use in the United States. This course is a delight for those
who want to take the course for half the day while keeping the other half to
explore Los Angeles. This program stresses vocabulary, with a choice of life
skills or academic focus.

For intermediate - advanced learners looking to develop
well-rounded English language skills and test-taking strategies to maximize
your success on the TOEFL exam for college. Individuals who have zero or a
little experience with the TOEFL exam will significantly benefit from the
program. Through the TOEFL preparation course, students can learn necessary
language skills and test-taking strategies for acing in the real exam. The
course emphasizes on four essential skills encompassing, listening to comprehension,
grammar, ability to communicate clearly through speech, reading comprehension,
and writing all at the ease of sitting at their home. Students are facilitated
and prepared for a smooth transition into a university classroom in the United
States.

Online Courses
Our online curriculum offers 7 different levels of English, with a
free placement test to determine the right class level for you.
Taught by our beloved aec teachers, our interactive online English courses allow you to practice live with teachers and classmates.
Everyday, our instructors provide targeted lessons that help the students
master new learning objectives. It is important to us that students master both
fluency and accuracy in the language.
Upon completion of your course, the student is awarded a
Certificate of Completion.
